Mount Mottarone [30 minutes by car from Stresa, 18 minutes by cableway], is an ideal excursion for walks and hiking. From his peak you can admire meadows, streams, and exceptional stirring views. Lake Maggiore and six other lakes, the marvelous circle of the Italian and Swiss Alps with the Mount Rosa, can also be seen from the peak. The resort is equipped for winter sports. In about 18 minutes by cableway you can enjoy a superlative view of the lake and the majestic alpine chain. Going by car from Stresa trough the panoramic toll road La Borromea.
Locarno and Cento Valli [60 Km by car to Locarno], this circular tour through some of the most beautiful parts of our area is an interesting and unforgettable excursions for an all-day trip. Leaving Stresa by train for Domodossola and continuing from there with the Centovalli railway into Locarno. The return journey to Stresa can also be made by boat or hydrofoil. The trip may also be done the opposite way round.
Macugnaga and Monte Rosa [60 minutes by car from Stresa], is a charming mountain resort at the foot of Mount Rosa, the highest precipice in Europe, situated in an extraordinary beautiful Alpine setting.
